Veterans Disability Claims
If you have served your country, then you deserve nothing but the best. And if you became disabled while serving your country, you may be entitled to monthly tax free benefits from the Veteran's Administration. Unfortunately, even the VA admits that veterans' disability benefits are not being paid to hundreds of thousands of eligible veterans who are entitled to receive them. Why? Either the claims are denied outright or the disability rating is not what it should be. And more claims are wrongfully denied every single day.
If you have had your VA claim denied, DO NOT GIVE UP. The laws have changed recently so attorneys can provide more effective help and support in getting VA disability benefits for deserving soldiers. As soon as you receive your initial decision from the VA, call Gordon & Pont PC at 800-529-6424. We will file the appeal, develop the claim and move it through the VA process as quickly as possible. There is NO FEE until WE WIN.
In order to qualify you need:
- To have served in the active military and received an honorable or general discharge.
- Have a condition that was caused by a sickness or injury that occurred during military service OR have a have a pre-existing condition that was made worse by your service
- Evidence, such as medical records, of a current physical or mental disability.
Once the VA finds a service connected disability, the severity of the disability will be rated on a scale from 0% to 100%. But, you do not need to be "totally" disabled to receive benefits. You can still receive benefits even if you are found "only" 10% disabled. If your disability rating is at least 30% benefits are available for your dependant spouse, children or parents. And if you have more than one disabling condition, the VA will rate each disability separately and combine them for a higher monthly benefit.
